Vehicle Description
The Buick Reatta featured twin bucket seats with a storage area
behind the seats featuring two lockable bins and a lockable access
hatch to the rear trunk. Production options on this car include
16-way power seats in lieu of 6-way power seats, side moldings in
black and a white pinstripe. A sunroof option became available in
late 1988 and is included on this car. This Reatta features a
touchscreen computer interface, marketed as the Electronic Control
Center (ECC), that includes radio and climate control functions,
date reminder, trip computer, user-configurable overspeed alarm as
well as diagnostic access to the vehicle's electronic systems and
sensors. Assembly at the Reatta Craft Centre was performed at a
series of stations each with a specialized team of workers, rather
than on a conventional assembly line. After a team had completed
their portion of the assembly, the car would be moved by robots to
the next station. Paintwork was performed on site under subcontract
to PPG Industries. (formerly known as Ditzler) The Reatta used GM's
transverse "Buick 3800" V6 with 165hp and 210 lbs of torque. The
car sports a fully independent suspension, 4 wheel disc brakes with
ABS, and front wheel drive. Top speed has been electronically
limited to 125 mph. The Reatta was rated at 18 mpg city driving and
27 mpg on the highway. The Reatta was intended as a halo car for
Buick to show off their advanced technologies with projected
production of 20,000 units a year however only 4708 were produced
in 1988 and production ended in early 1991. This is a beautiful
example of a very fun to drive and hard to find two seat Buick.
Mechanically it runs perfectly and the handling and ride is
awesome. For anyone looking for an American built compact
two-seater in great shape this is it. Topping it all off is this is
a one owner and lady driven. All you need to do is turn the key,
drive away and look foreword to having the cruising blast of your
life. This car has been driven, well maintained and cared for. It
has a few minor chips in the paint and one small dent in the right
headlight door as shown in pictures. This one owner, predominantly
lady driven Reatta has been tagged by collectors in the know as one
of the up and coming vehicles destined to join the ranks of
"collector car status" and preforming well in the classic car
marketplace. Due to its two seater class and limited production, it
has little competition in its class. Bring a solid offer to the
table and we'll get a deal cut, a sure win-win. If you are showing,
cruising or just collecting, this car leaves nothing to be desired.
The excellent condition of this vehicle and its beautiful sporty
appearance makes it a perfect choice for getting into the classic
car market either as an investment opportunity or as a weekend or
daily driver. If you've wanted a beautifully restored and sporty
super stylish car at an affordable price this is the one! Don't
