From 1948-1950; Willys-Overland produced the Jeepster in an effort
to move away from simply utilitarian vehicles and offer a
fully-capable vehicle that wold appeal to the passenger automobile
market. Providing several standard high-level features that were
options in competing models; Willys hoped to capture consumers
attention a utilitarian vehicle that had a greater luxury feel.
Though the Jeepster was well regarded by those who owned them;
little advertising and a limited dealer network led to the vehicle
being phased out after the 1950 model year.
This 1950 model underwent an impressive cosmetic restoration. The
yellow exterior is an eye-catcher and flows well into the tan
interior. The car has a cloth tan top and the car has the windows,
located in a holding area behind the rear seat. Powered by a 134
cubic inch Hurricane 4-cylinder engine tied to a 3-speed manual
transmission with overdrive, the car fires right up and is a joy to
drive. During the restoration, a XM satellite radio and speakers
were added to the car. For a fun vehicle to drive that grabs the
attention of anyone who sees it, the Jeepster is a great
option.
Unless stated otherwise, vehicle mileage on title is exempt and
unknown if original.
