Vehicle Description
Chevrolet did the unthinkable in 2012 when it created a short run
of the true quickest Camaros to ever to come from the factory. So
when you can get your hands on an ultra-rare instant-icon COPO
Camaro that features a 750 hp 427 V8, then you know this is a truly
special moment.
This is one of only 69 cars that started it all. The COPO Camaro
program was never anything official from Chevrolet until this
moment, and it was never anything as wild as this. These were the
rare few that were built specifically for NHRA competition. Oh yes,
they're too wild for production VINs or to be registered on the
streets. Chevy had over 2,000 people interested in obtaining one of
these specialty Camaros when the hand-built production was
announced. So they actually had to hire an outside firm to get it
down to the select few who were given the opportunity to purchase a
coupe - that's how in-demand these are! The car looks as gleaming
as the day it was picked up from Detroit, and Summit White with
Chevy Racing Blue graphics is arguably the best combo of them all.
After all, it gives these modern drag strip monsters the look of
the classic '67 Camaro pace car. But what you really care about is
all the substance within.
The interior is pure race machine. That's why you have a full
chrome moly roll cage, racing bucket seats, and RJS racing
harnesses. And just to remind you that this is a factory-backed
effort, there are COPO logos on the seats and dash. Chevrolet
wanted this to feel like a true stock racer, so you get the factory
wheel w/stereo switches, full door panels w/speaker inserts, and
center control knobs. Of course, none of them are hooked up to
anything, because this is all about being the lightest and quickest
Camaro around. That's why your real controls are the toggle
switches neatly integrated into the dash. The factory speedo and
tach are supplemented by all your important auxiliary readouts in
the center at eye level, and there's even a large AutoMeter tach
w/shift light mounted correctly on the A-pillar. It goes great with
the Hurst race shifter with lock out.
Under the hood is a true beast. It's a hand-built 427 cubic-inch
race motor. It features 13.5:1 compression, Callies rods, hydraulic
rollers, Mahle pistons, and an ATI Super Damper harmonic damper.
This is a fuel-injected powerhouse that inhales deeply with a
Holley Hi-Ram intake with special COPO casting. And it exhales with
authority as American Racing Headers freely exit beneath the car.
This monster power package delivers 750 horsepower at the crank and
595 hp to the wheels. Because this is a race-spec car direct from
GM, you know they are using a Powerglide transmission, and this one
is a beefed-up unit from ATI. This feeds a strong Strange 9-inch
rear lightweight spool and 4.30 gears for excellent take-offs.
Plus, you get a four-link rear (w/track bar,) adjustable coilovers,
four-wheel disc brakes, and Hoosier slicks mounted on special
Bogart COPO wheels.
This is the ultimate collectable and racer, so it comes with all
the right docs, including copies of the bill of sale, COPO build
folder, and more. You know how special this car is, and you know an
opportunity like this is fleeting. Call today!!!
