The 1954 Bel Air was the final year of production of the vehicle's first-generation design. Designed to resemble a convertible with a non-detachable solid roof, the first generation was a hit among consumers. The 1954 model year was the stepping stone for Chevrolet to the "tri-five" era Bel Airs that were to come.
