1946 Ford Super Deluxe Convertible AUTOMATIC! Our seller, now in
his mid 80s, has owned this 1946 Super Deluxe Convertible for over
25 years. We are selling his collection for him now in an effort to
allow a bit more manageable lifestyle for him. The last two
vehicles remaining are this Convertible and his 1946 old school
Performance Modified Pickup Truck. This Pheasant Red Convertible is
his go to favorite for cruise events and the local shows. He says
its dependable and easy to drive with the 1953 Mercury Automatic
transmission coupled to the Flathead V8. Hes says theres plenty of

top. Just some brief fun facts about the 46 Ford: The 1946 Ford
went into production in June 1945. New for 1946 was the horizontal
grille and widened hood. New from Ford for 46 was the 239 cid V-8
producing 100 hp. Before World War II that engine was offered in
Mercurys. A 225 cid straight 6 was also available. Two trim levels
offered were Deluxe and Super Deluxe. Base 6-cylinder cars were
priced around $1,100. The convertible had a base price of $1,400.
Ford made 468,000 cars for the 1946 model year. Of those, 16,300
were convertibles. They made 720 wood paneled Sportsman
Convertibles. The only transmission available was a 3-speed column
