Gateway Classic Cars of St. Louis is proud to present this 1980
Shay Model A Roadster! Here is a fantastic car. Shay Model A's
offer the looks and styling of the original car, but with an easier
to drive and more reliable drivetrain. Ford Motor Company and Shay
made a deal for Shay to build these in limited numbers and sell
them through the Ford dealer network. Under the hood they used a
140 CID single overhead cam 4-cylinder engine. This engine choice
produced 88 horsepower, doubling the original 40 horsepower
produced by Henry Ford 200 CID 4-cylinder engine. The 4 cylinders
used in the original Model As were good engines, but over time it
simply could not keep up. The modern motor is also much easier to
source parts for and have a general mechanic work on if needed. For
sale is a running and driving example of a 1980 Shay Model A that
is perfect for Sunday ice cream runs, parades, car shows, or even
just a good old-fashioned car cruise. Since these 1980 Shay Model
A's were built for the classic Model A styling they weren't ruined
with modern amenities and features. For a simple, but eye-catching
experience behind the wheel of a piece of history, please inquire
