manufactured by Mercedes since 1954. The designation SL derives
from the German Sportlich-Leicht, translating to Sports Lightweight
in English. This Mercedes is certainly that, a lightweight machine,
ready to cruise you around town in luxury. It's also capable of
getting you there in a hurry if you desire, with its 5.5L V-12
engine. Fed by twin turbos with twin intercoolers, the SL600's SOHC
36-valve, 60-degree aluminum V-12 spools up 610 pound-feet of
torque, maintaining that mountainous level from 1800 rpm to 3500
rpm, and 510hp at 5000rpm. The five-speed automatic offers a
three-mode manumatic function, just as it does in the SL55, but
with such an abundance of muscle, augmented by quick throttle
response, it seems superfluous. When the driver wishes to summon
haste, they only need to tramp on the pedal and the V-12 will mash
them against the seatback in a flash. Speaking of seats, this
vehicle comes with quality leather/vented seating capable of
heating or cooling you and your passenger to the perfect
temperature. Need more air besides the seats? Simply flick a switch
and the hard-top is tucked away quickly, making those bright sunny
days just a tad bit more enjoyable. Other options include: A/C,
