1999 Ford Econoline RV Cutaway Road Van.Triton V10 engine and
overdrive transmission for maximum gas mileage. This is truly a
One-of-a-kind Party Bus/RV and camper. She is "Shuttle Van
Conversion Number 6"Professionally built in 2013 by John
Schmalshof, custom coach builder in Atlanta, GA. The exterior
looks pretty normal for a Shuttle bus, except perhaps for the
diamond plated tool box in the rear. However, the interior is
constructedof natural wood, cloth upholstery, curtains and amply
appointed with Stainless steel hardware and equipped with many
creaturecomforts. This Shuttle Bus Conversion offers many windows
for viewing Nature - much more than a conventional RV/Motor Coach
and has shore power hookups when at a campsite with services, but
also can be very functional for days "off-grid" with its solar
panels and power inverter. Tinted windows give privacy. The Van
Sleeps 4 comfortably - One queen bed and one Gaucho
couch/bed.
The conversion in 2013 included installation of the elevated queen
bed platform at the rear of the coach. Directly under the bed is
a25 gallon water tank and a large cavity for luggage and storage
accessed from the outside clamshell door. Also under the bed is
storage space for clothing with sliding doors of faux marble. A
large matching faux marble cabinet was installed on the LHS of the
van for storage which houses the stainless steel sink bowl and
encases the 20 Gallon water heater. Opposite the cabinet on the
RHS of the van is a Gauchobed - a comfy couch by day, and a fold
out two-sleeper bed by night. The coach was modified to
accomodatea large Norcold Refrigerator/Freezer (AC and propane)
and a microwave. I purchased the coach in 2015 and drove
Cross-Country to California from Atlanta sightseeing along the way.
I had no problems whatsoever and the bus drove well and was very
comfortable. In 2015, I added a Solar Panel system (utilizing two
marine batteries for storage) so that I was not dependenton AC for
power. Also in 2015 I gave the van a new HO alternator, installed
a new wireless Electric Door System for side door entry, a new AC
compressor, and a new bluetooth remote control stereo system. In
2020 I removed the carpeting and installed a new vinyl floor of
simulated oak.
