Terrific head turner at shows and on the street! This Dodge Polara
has been treated to a U.S. Border Patrol treatment with working
lights and siren! It retained its original 383ci V8, 3-speed
automatic, and 3.23 Sure-Grip rear axle! Also equipped with power
steering & brakes! Recently serviced! Great car to drive and
enjoy!
The Dodge Polara was introduced in 1960, named after the Polaris
Star to enhance America's fascination with the space race during
the 1960's. It would represent the top-of-the-line model for Dodge
until 1962, before being upstaged by the Custom 880 and the later
Monaco series. Considered a mid-size model, it shared Chrysler's
C-platform from 1965-1968. The Polara was offered in a hardtop,
convertible, sedan, and even wagon varieties. Today, they are a
terrific platform for restorations, full customs, and special
interest vehicles, or perhaps vintage government vehicles like this
one!
Offered here is a 1967 Dodge Polara 4-door Sedan finished in
factory code-correct WW1- White over L4R- Red Vinyl split bench
interior. Under the hood lies its original 1967 date-code correct
383ci big block V8, now fitted with a new Edelbrock combination
aluminum intake and 750cfm 4-barrel carburetor for enhanced power!
Other factory attributes include power steering, power brakes, 3.23
Sure-Grip rear axle, 26" radiator, all tinted window glass, 14"
steel wheels with dog dish hubcaps, fender-mounted turn signals,
Music Master AM radio, windshield washer, and more!
This example has been treated to modest restoration to include an
older repaint of the exterior finish, while retaining what appears
to be an all original interior. In addition to the engine upgrades,
this car has been enhanced with exterior body graphics to resemble
a U.S. Border Patrol car, along with a Johnson CB/PA radio under
the dash, and working lights and siren! The CB radio is there only
for looks, while a Pioneer AM/FM/Cassette installed under the dash
allows modern tunes! It garners great attention on our showroom, so
we can only imagine what heads it would turn on the streets or car
shows! The classic siren and working rotating roof light & red
grill lights only add to the enjoyment!
The original fender tag decodes this Polara as a customer-ordered
example with a 383ci-2 barrel engine with 3-speed automatic
transmission, and Sure-Grip rear axle in this exact color
combination. Our records indicate it received a new power steering
pump and full tune up in 2011. And more recently, we had the fuel
tank drained & filled with fresh hi-test gasoline, new fuel pump &
fuel filter installed, along with fresh engine oil/filter and a new
battery. It continues to start, run, and drive with great ease! It
has not been driven frequently over the past 8 years, so it does
have some normal engine gasket leaks from sitting, but it really
does continue to cruise the open road with very few criticisms. We
feel this will be a highlight at local shows and a vehicle to enjoy
for what it is- a great conversation piece! Please call to schedule
an inspection for your chance to review it in person! Act quickly,
before President Trump beats you to it!
