1971 Dodge Charger Super Bee

The Super Bee was first released in 1968 and was based on the Coronet. The idea was to create a powerful but affordable muscle car and the result was a rebadged version of the Plymouth Road Runner. The name came from the "B" body designation which was assigned to Chrysler's mid sized cars. In 1971 the Super Bee moved to the Charger platform like the car you see here. This fully restored classic is a great example of Mopar muscle and the car looks great. Mopars had quite a few bright brilliant colors to choose from and this one was ordered in a GY3 Citron Yella paint. There really is no sneaking up on people in this classic. If the rumbling exhaust doesn't get their attention that bright paint will. It features the Super Bee hood, rear spoiler and the sports stripe package all painted in a nice contrasting matte Black. The car was built to be driven but that doesn't mean they just ignored the undercarriage because the solid floors are all painted to match the top and everything was built very cleanly. It is clear the car has been well cared for since new and continues to be well maintained. The car rides on its original style wheels with Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires.

Under the hood the car features its numbers matching 383 Magnum V8 motor. The engine runs very well and has been built to look fresh while still keeping that originality. The entire engine compartment including the motor is nicely painted. It is topped with a 4 barrel carb and its original Magnum air cleaner. Paired with the motor is the Torqueflite A727 3 speed automatic transmission that shifts smoothly. It really is a nice driver and also features dual exhaust, power steering and power brakes. If you are looking for a nice clean Mopar with documented originality that is also ready for you to hop in and drive then look no further.

The interior has all been redone and features Black upholstery. Everything looks factory fresh and original. From the Rally instrument cluster to the AM radio no expense was spared it making the car look like it just rolled off of the factory assembly line. It has all of the original wood grain accents and trim which looks good. There is one section where the upholstery isn't perfect that is located in between the seat back and bottom and is only seen when the seat is folded forward. Other than that every thing looks great. In the trunk the car houses a spare, jack assembly and an assortment of additional parts.

All of these old Mopars are pretty rare especially when you factory in things like the numbers matching motor. Only 5,054 were made originally and the number of those still in existence and in good condition is significantly lower. Also factor in only 2,889 were ordered with this drivetrain and only 123 in this color combo.
