Speedster Classic built right here in Indianapolis by the
Bettenhausen family. Built in 1991-92 right on Gasoline Alley here
in Indianapolis. The car has approximately 8,500 miles on the
clock. A two owner car, the second and current owner bought the car
from the Bettenhausen family in 1997. The 359 Speedster was
produced by Classic Motor Carriages in Miami, FL. The chassis was
professionally built by Metalcraft Products in Michigan. It
features a tube-frame chassis with a dual "A" arm suspension, fully
adjustable ride height with Koni adjustable shocks, and four wheel
dual piston brakes. Under the bonnet, is a 145hp 2.0L Volkswagen
engine built by Miami Performance Specialties in Ohio. The car has
only been serviced by one mechanic from Autohaus Merkle here in
Indianapolis. The engine features dual Dellorte carbs, and Porsche
magneto with Bosch blue coil integral oil cooler. Mated to this
great engine is a VW four speed manual transmission with a heavy
duty clutch and reverse lockout plate. The body of the Speedster is
finished in factory white gel coated fiberglass. The interior
features black leather seats, door panels and speedster-style
three-piece dash pad set. It has machined billet door handles with
Simpson three-point racing harnesses. Other features on this car
include the Alpine 7800 pull out AM/FM CD player, sound stream
60-watt amp with M.B. quartz loudspeakers mounted in the doors.
