This car was purchased by the second owner in 1989 with 7359 miles on it. It was purchased in Madison, WI. They lived just West of there, on a large farm. It became part of their collection. They have climate controlled storage. It was driven very sparingly. In fact, the ORIGINAL tires were just replaced a couple years ago. They have less than 500 miles on them.
Unfortunately, he passed away unexpectedly, leaving his widow with quite a few cars. She did not wish to continue as the caretaker and contacted me for help.
At this time, the mileage sits at 20,500. This is the actual mileage. The condition of the car reflects it. I bought the car and drove it 75 miles from her garage. It had just been serviced and inspected, so she was quite confident that it would make the trip with ease. Which it did.
I thoroughly inspected the car. It is completely original and in great condition. Other than tires, battery, belts and hoses, it is completely original. I know the shop that maintained it for her and they do great work. They recently serviced the Air Conditioning and replenished the R12 Freon. It now blows ice cold.
Every feature on this car works as it should. All lights and gauges function properly. The Electronic Instrumentation works perfectly. There are no cosmetic defects, either inside or out. Great care and proper storage has allowed this low mile car to remain in like new condition.
It is a well-equipped car. It has the Crossfire 350 V8 and the Doug Nash 4+3 manual transmission. When coupled to the 3.07 gear ratio, it will cruise at 72 miles per hour at 2000 rpm in Overdrive. Yet, the gearing and manual transmission offers great driving fun.
This car has the Z51 Performance Handling package and P255/50/VR16 tires. It corners very well and hugs the road. It has four wheel power disc brakes and close ratio power steering.
There are nice creature comforts including Cruise Control and Air Conditioning. The steering column tilts. The driver’s seat is power. Both the windows and the locks are power. The seats are leather in Graphite.
The radio is the DELCO/Bose AM/FM/Cassette. The antenna is power. The windows and mirrors both have defoggers.
This car is finished in Bright Red. The original paint is in great condition with minimal flaws. It shines brightly. The Cast Aluminum wheels are as close to perfect as could be.
It’s a shame this car wasn’t enjoyed more. They just had too many to enjoy them all frequently. The good news is that there is so much life left to be enjoyed by you.
I recognize that 1984 is not the most desirable year for a Corvette. However, the condition, low mileage, nice options and reasonable price should make this particular car very desirable
