Gateway Classic Cars of Philadelphia is presenting a California
styled 1960 VW Beetle for sale. This Beetle is a sweet custom ride!
Great use of color and a neat blend of old and new details. All the
body trim is in place, Paint and bodywork is in great condition.
Check out the gorgeous custom hood hinges with shocks to hold the
hood up and a matching fuel filler cover! Slips right off for
filling and then slips back on for showtime! The pearl in the
finish really glows with the right light. This Beetle has the
proper 1960 taillights and convertible engine lid. With Early Oval
style front turn signals, Euro bumpers, a Nice stance, Accessory
horn grilles, Volkswagen script and Wolfsburg crest. The interior
is rich grey upholstery on the seats and panels, Billet handles and
steering wheel. The Carpets are clearly a pro install and not an
off the shelf kit, even the trunk is upholstered! This Beetle is
equipped with seat belts so you can haul the kids around, and a
Nice audio system with an amp and speakers behind the back seat.
Make sure you notice the little details like the Crazy cool Vintage
Speed shifter and Billet aluminum dash knobs, that look sweet!
Check out the modern upgraded head unit and the cell phone holder!
The Wheels and tires are a classic favorite "Fuchs" Porsche alloys.
Out back is a strong running, port engine with a few add ons. It is
a bit of a sleeper actually, as what appears to be a simple 1600,
is really a 2007cc performance engine. This crazy combination is
the work of the masters at Old Speed in California. Proper jetting
in a single carb can easily give the big engine what it needs
without bolting on gas guzzling Webers that need fiddling with all
the time. Behind the engine is a built Bus gearbox, the exhaust is
a Tri-Mill Bobtail setup and an IRS rear suspension...another
conversion by Old Speed, that is an incredible upgrade. Along with
the IRS conversion, the wheels stay properly upright, rather than
tucked in when lowered like a swing axle car. It Keeps the rubber
on the road where it needs to be and is set up for excellent
clearance at the fender. Rear ride height on this Beetle is
adjustable with high end Fox air shocks. Top is from Chucks
Convertible Parts the frame has been fully restored and all rubber
seals are freshly tucked in nice and neat. This was a full, body
off restoration...look at how clean that floorpan is! Front
suspension has a narrowed beam and Fox air shocks. Dual stage
master cylinder feeds the disc brakes up front and the stock drums
out back. The Disc brakes and drop spindles Beam is adjustable in
the center as well. This VW looks great with a fun and classy
approach to the modifications and the performance and handling
upgrades are also well done and a very unique approach. To view
