The Chevelle came in many trim levels in 1972. The SS model was an
appearance/suspension option that was available with virtually any
drivetrain combination that Chevy offered and the owner states that
this is a true Chevelle SS. The visual items and mechanical
components on the car appear to be all correct SS components. Our
Chevelle was the beneficiary of a full restoration in 2016 and a
binder of receipts relating to the restoration is included in the
sale. The professional Gold respray is excellent and is accented by
a black-stripped SS hood w/pins, SS logos and period-correct Cragar
wheels w/BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. The distinctive vinyl
interior was also refreshed - seats, SS dash, door cards and
headliner - all in very good condition. This Chevelle is equipped
with Vintage Air, an Autogage package, tinted windows and an
AM/FM/8-track stereo system. The Chevelle is powered by the 350ci
small block that the owner states is matching numbers. It was
totally rebuilt including new crank, cam, .030 overbore, 8.5:1
pistons, Edelbrock intake, Holley 650cfm carb and MSD ignition. The
heads were reworked with new springs and valves. Exhaust is routed
to a Flowmaster system by tube headers, This 350 is backed by a
built Turbo-HydraMatic 400 transmission w/new convertor and rebuilt
12-bolt factory differential. The chassis is fitted with a new fuel
tank and features power steering and power disc/drum brakes with
all new components. Suspension upgrades include front/rear sway
bars, air-shocks, new springs, ball-joints, bushings and tie rods.
