Vehicle Description
1965 Oldsmobile Cutlass
Car History
There were plenty of GM muscle cars back in the sixties like GTO's
and Chevelle's, but one true American muscle car line was made by
Oldsmobile, the Cutlass and the 442.
The completely restored 1966 Oldsmobile Cutlass like the one we
have here at Adventure Classics, has the same A-body with the
aggressive Oldsmobile look and a combination of power with more
luxurious appointments that the other GM brands did not have.
Engine & Drivetrain
Our Cutlass is powered by a 400 cubic inch engine out of a 1966
Olds 442 which has been rebuilt into a powerhouse as it was bored
.30 over, has a new Mondello cam and cam bearings, Edelbrock
aluminum heads, intake and 650 CFM performance carb.
The crank was ground with new main bearings, new pistons, rings.
Rods and rod bearings, .921 lifters, 9.600 push rods, Harlan Sharp
roller rockers, Accel HEI ignition, Mondello high volume oil pump
and water pump, chrome valve covers and open air filter, as well as
all new Power Steering pump and lines, vacuum and air conditioning
lines and condenser.
It has a re-cored performance radiator with dual Flex-A-Light
electric fans, new wiring harness, new brakes and lines, shocks,
and springs.
The 400 cubic inch V8 engine is backed by a refurbished Jet Away
automatic transmission, is painted the correct factory Olds blue
color, has the cast iron factory exhaust headers, and air
conditioning, and a 3:08 Posi rear end.
Interior
The interior is fully restored with its dual white vinyl bucket
seats and matching rear seat, black carpet, AM/FM Radio Stereo
system, seat belts, great center console and seat trim, black
factory 3-spoke steering wheel, perfect dash with all factory
gauges including the original factory tach and an additional Sun
tach and performance gauges too, tinted glass, and factory air
conditioning.
Exterior
This beautiful Cutlass coupe is painted in a Nocturne Mist paint
job with the Provicial White painted top and it looks as it should
with good panels and body fitment, shiny chrome bumpers, good trim
and emblems, and classy lines everywhere you look.
The Cutlass rides on Radial BF Goodrich Radial TA Tires with Olds
factory 5-spoke wheels for the correct period look and handles
great with the new Power Steering with its fast ratio box and
sounds great too with those dual exhausts.
Conclusion
This completely restored 1966 Oldsmobile Cutlass convertible is one
of those cars that's hard to find but you will find easy to love it
with the powerful engine, restored entire car, and all of the
attention you will get.
