1976 Chevrolet Cosworth Vega is #3,402 of 3,508 produced during a
two-year production run, and when new was used as a display vehicle
at Dan Kightlinger Chevrolet in Cochranton, Pennsylvania. After
production ceased, Mr. Kightlinger retained the car as part of his
personal collection for 38 years, until it was purchased by another
Pennsylvania dealer in 2014. The second private party owner
purchased the car in 2016. This Vega was acquired by the selling
dealer in September 2019 and now shows just 338 miles. Finished in
Dark Green Metallic over black vinyl, the car features bucket seats
and a gold engine-turned dashboard fascia. Power is provided by the
original 2.0-liter DOHC inline-four, which is paired with an
optional five-speed manual gearbox and a Posi-traction rear end.
Service in October 2019 included replacement of the air filter,
fuel filter, spark plugs, coolant-level sensor, and engine oil.The
Fisher-built body is finished in 1976-only Dark Green Metallic
(49L), with yellow pin stripes on the hood, sides, and rear.A
Cosworth-branded, four-spoke steering wheel fronts the
engine-turned dash face, which features a plaque identifying this
car as the 3,402nd Cosworth Vega. Just 338 miles are now shown on
the odometer. The shifter features a dogleg pattern, and the cabin
is also equipped with an AM/FM radio (U69) and optional rear seat
speaker (U80). The original window sticker is affixed to the
driver-side rear quarter widow and lists the following features:
