THE JEEPZILLA! Better known in the shop as Over Kill! This 1986
CJ7
on steroids, has had close to $80,000 spent to make it the Monster
it is today. This over the top
build has less than 500 miles since completion and has
never
been registered for the road, yet. It has been used mostly for
marketing and minimal light off-road excursions.
The new fiberglass body kit was
professionally painted in high impact
silver and has a beautiful shine with consistent silver pigment.
The engine powering Jeepzilla is a fire
breathing
AMC 390 with dual 500CFM carbs. The AMC 400 (modified) transmission
with Dana 300 transfer case, Rockwell 2 ton differentials (military
axles narrowed 17 inches), 49/21-16.5lt tires, 49 inch IROC Clement
16.5X14 wheels, hydraulic rear steer for tight turns and rock
crawling. All parts, including engine, were assembled using
stainless steel fasteners. This Jeep won World of Wheels on the 4
wheel class and it is truly a show Jeep. 26 inch total lift, 4 inch
fully boxed frame, custom built front and rear heavy duty bumpers.
(It is too tall to fit
in a standard garage) Four wheel disc brakes with 6 piston calipers
front and rear. Overson Engineering, Super 8 hubs with 6 piston
calipers and 16'' discs at all corners. Rear steer with Dalton
Hydraulics pump and directional valves with stops. 15 gallon
aluminum fuel cell fiberglass tub with one piece tilt front end and
Painless wiring. Interior consists of custom stainless dash,
polished stainless steering column and linkage, corbeau seats,
custom instrument and distribution panels with Flaming River column
and shafts, Grant wheel, Painless wiring and 5 Point harnesses. 15
gallon RCI aluminum fuel cell, AGR steering box and high output
pump. Bumpers are custom made as much of the other brackets. This
is the second time
we have owned this beast of a Jeep. The pictures were taken the
first
time we
owned it and it has not changed much other than easily removable
Jeepzilla
graphics on the sides and back.
