Gateway Classic Cars Houston showroom is excited to offer for sale
one bad bird, the 2002 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am WS6 Collector
Edition. This Collector Edition T/A is #1954 of the roughly 2390
built in the Collector' Edition configuration, and of that, 1 of an
estimated 839 of them that were equipped with the manual
transmission. It's also a two-owner car with only 67,300 actual
miles, a brand-new A/C system, and tires with less than 200 miles
on them! This Firebird for sale was designed by the Pontiac
division of General Motors between 1967 and 2002. The Firebird was
introduced the same year as the automaker's platform-sharing model,
the Chevrolet Camaro. This coincided with the release of the 1967
Mercury Cougar, which shared its platform with another pony car,
the Ford Mustang. The fourth-generation Firebird amplified the
aerodynamic styling initiated by the previous generations and
started showing some real muscle car attributes. For the Firebird's
final year, the Collector Edition Trans Am was released in one
color - yellow - and as either a WS6 convertible or WS6 T-top
coupe. All were adorned with special black/silver/gray stripes on
the hood and sides, black-painted five-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels,
and as well as black-trimmed body details and medallions. While it
has a touch over 67K miles on it, you would be hard-pressed to know
that based on its overall condition, especially the interior. As
the same as yester-years, the Formula and Trans Am Firebirds
received a close version of the Corvette engine. A 5.7 L V8, the
LS1 of the C5 Corvette was used in these as the LT1 and LT4 iron
V8s were discontinued. The LS1 Firebirds were also equipped with an
aluminum driveshaft, replacing the previous steel version. All the
Firebird trim levels gained four-wheel disc brakes with dual-piston
front calipers and larger rotors at each wheel, complete with a
anti-locking brake system. A Hurst shifter sits atop the T56
6-speed transmission. Black Collector Edition leather seats were
custom embroidered, and there are also special floor mats. Options
on this highly sought-after 2002 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am
Collector Edition include: AC, AM/FM/CD Radio, Anti-lock brakes,
Anti-theft System, Cruise Control, Driver/Passenger Airbags,
Keyless Entry, Leather Interior, Performance Radial Tires, Power
Locks, Power Mirrors, Power Windows, Power Steering, Power Brakes,
Rear Defogger, Seat Belts, Spare Tire and Jack, Tilt Wheel,
Traction Control, and Aluminum Alloy Wheels. For more information
