The classic Bug is the true example of a vintage car that's
affordable to obtain, easy to maintain, and ton of fun to enjoy.
And this nicely documented 1969 Volkswagen Beetle is the ideal
example to fully uphold that tradition.
The Beetle has an instant personality that comes from looking like
nothing else that came before it. Sure, they're fortified with
precision German quality, but the soft flowing fenders make you
want to pet it - like it was born instead of built. The budget
price leave room for any improvements or resprays you may want to
make. But it's quite nice to already have a complete example like
this with some good details, like the bright exhaust tips and newer
set of Coker Classic tires. These VWs were famous for not changing
much over its lifetime (that's how the operational costs remain so
low.) But fans of the little car know that '69 comes from an ideal
set. It's one of the years with the big back window that still
carries a more classily-styled rear sheetmetal.
Inside, you are once again reminded that this was an ideal year for
a VW. You still got the classic steering wheel with Wolfsburg
crest. It has a great vintage look and gives an excellent view of
the simple/elegant VDO gauge. But this was also the era that
evolved to desirable factory features like the high-back bucket
seats and full three-point seatbelts up front. Plus, your driving
music has a big upgrade with a retro-style AM/FM digital tuner with
aux input and USB plug, so it's ready for modern music players.
Volkswagen's flat-four motor is the secret to the car's success. It
has the hypnotic air-cooled hum that makes motoring fun. So it's
great to see this 1500cc unit looking so nice. This is believed to
be the original motor, and the date codes even lines up. But it
also shows the right signs of good maintenance, including newer
pieces like the distributor, plug wires, and fuel lines. The way
this one fires up and runs so eagerly reaffirms its quality care.
This isn't a muscle car, but smart engineering with the motor over
the driving wheels makes this feel more substantial. And the
control of a four-speed manual transmission means you and the
machine feel like a team getting the most out of the motor. It's
this full driving experience that adds to the personality and why
the Beetle has such a loyal following.
The sale comes complete with nice paperwork, including the original
window sticker, owner's manual, pamphlets, and maintenance records.
This is the affordable and fun classic that's looking for a new
garage to call its home. Call today!!!
