We all want our classic car to have a story, and that's what makes
this 1958 Edsel Villager wagon instantly appealing. But when you
dig deeper, you see a rare car with cool paint, plenty of
originality, and a true cruiser personality.
Edsels have really come into their own on the classic car market.
While their high price turned them into a legendary failure to find
buyers, today that makes them a distinct and rare choice. And
because the Villager wagon version was one of the most expensive it
became one of the rarest of the rare. Less than 4,700 examples of
the four-door wagon were produced in '58 (the Edsel's inaugural
year.) And you can already imagine how few have survived today
looking this good. There was a professional repaint of the
factory-correct Spruce Green with white accents. This two-tone is
intricate work as the creamy white draws extra attention to the
distinct and sweeping side trim. In fact, all the major brightwork
on the wagon is complete. That means the two-piece front bumpers,
intricate side mirrors, and absolutely retro-cool tailfin
treatment. So this one has a solid presentation that goes
well-beyond the famous horse collar grille.
The interior continues with the two-tone green and white. You can
instantly see there have been investments in places like the dash
and carpeting to keep this feeling fresh. And both rows of wide
bench seats look fantastic with the textured green and bright
white. Even the door panels were done to match! You'll slip behind
the factory wheel and gaze at gauges that were clearly inspired by
the jet age. This has a terrific classic look with all the right
pieces, from the working AM radio, to the Edsel's famous
push-button transmission selector that's right in the center of the
steering wheel. Legroom is expansive, and the two-piece tailgate
reveals plenty of room in the back. So this is the perfect classic
for those who love to do everything from family road trips to
tailgating.
This is a W-code Edsel, which means the correct 361 cubic-inch V8
is under the hood. It's a proper presentation with the yellow
block, big white air topper, and matching valve covers. But if
you'll look closer, you'll discover an Edelbrock four-barrel
carburetor and Edelbrock intake for added power. There's even a
newer fan and radiator to help keep this running nicely. This V8 is
a great powerhouse to move this wagon with ease. So it's a great
cruiser thanks to features like the three-speed automatic
transmission and a suspension that looks like it has received the
right maintenance.
Complete with owner's manual and service manuals, this is the
first-year Edsel that is everything you want in vintage distinction
and true utility. It's an unbeatable combo you need to get your
hands on right now. Call today!!!
