Available in our Gateway Classic Cars Dallas-Fort Worth showroom is
this beautiful 1957 Ford Thunderbird finished in Coral Sand with
Cream interior with the 312 CID V8; one of the rarest Thunderbirds
ever made. Performance was becoming an increasingly important
feature to car buyers as the '50s progressed, and in 1957 Ford
increased engine choices in the Thunderbird to no fewer than six,
including four levels of power in the new 312 CI version of its
Y-block V-8 engine in addition to the 292 CI units offered in 1955
and 1956 Thunderbirds. This example incorporates the 245 HP version
of the new 312 CI engine featuring dual exhaust. One of very few
Thunderbirds ordered with rare Coral Sand paint, optional port hole
hard top, and a contrasting white interior. It was well-optioned
with the Borg Warner-designed Ford-O-Matic 3-speed automatic
transmission, Master Guide power steering, and Swift Sure power
brakes. When it came to exterior cosmetics, the buyer of this early
production example chose an optional porthole hard top, chromed
wire wheels, wide whitewall tires and fender skirts. The interior
is just as nice as the exterior. This one has the port hole top,
312 CID V8/245 HP, Ford-O-Matic automatic transmission, power
steering, power brakes and a town and country radio. This gorgeous
coral sand Thunderbird has had an extensive restoration by the
previous owner. Beautiful well-preserved body covered in show
quality coral sand paint and a matching port hole top. The chrome
and stainless is very nice. The cream interior is exceptional dash
with clear crisp gauges. This nostalgic icon car is rolling on a
set of wide whites with correct caps and has major curb appeal.
