The product of a 6-figure, 2,200-hour build that was completed in
early 2019 by Cook Performance of Woodstock, New Brunswick, Canada,
this slick 3100 wraps custom Crystal Red Pearl 2-stage around a
solid body that's both worldly and classic. At the front of the
truck, a Charcoal grille centers polished bars on a nosed hood, a
polished bumper and modern, dual-mode headlights. Behind that hood,
a smoothed cowl props electronic wipers on a flush, one-piece
windshield, which parallels a flush, smoked backlite. Speaking of
smoked windows, one-piece side glass bridges the gap between shaved
drip rails and smoothed doors. Under that greenhouse, tucked
mirrors reflect traditional handles and custom, billet-trimmed
running boards that are tailored around widened fenders and rowdy,
side-exit exhaust. Behind those boards, stainless-trimmed Bird's
Eye Maple seats a relocated fuel filler amid filled stake pockets,
a proud bowtie and a hidden tailgate latch. And at the bottom of
that bed, a custom rollpan centers a small camera between custom,
flush-mount taillights.
MODERN GM POWER
Lift the rolled hood and you'll find six liters of potent GM LS
Generation IV small block that twists 423 dyno-proven, rear-wheel
horsepower into 364 lb./ft of stump-pulling torque! At the top of
that aluminum mill, K&N filter cones cap custom, body-matched
air tubes that are piped into quality FiTech fuel injection. That
set-up jams fuel and oxygen into a FiTech Ultimate LS intake, which
shades aluminum GM heads that have been fitted with fresh rockers,
stronger pushrods and better springs. Those heads, dressed in
color-keyed valve covers, ride between hot MSD wires, short
stainless headers and a COMP LSR Series hydraulic roller cam. Up
front, a sweet CVF Racing accessory drive spins a polished
alternator opposite a polished AC compressor. Further up front, an
electric pusher fan joins a satin Be Cool radiator to take care of
cooling. And to the left, a polished brake booster backs a Wilwood
master center and a Wilwood proportioning valve.
UPGRADES GALORE
As you would expect, the bottom of this slick 3100 is just as nice
as its top! Upgrades kick off with a fully boxed frame that's been
reinforced with modern, tubular crossmembers. That frame rides a
Heidts Superide independent front-clip, which leads a Heidts 4-bar
rear-clip. At the center of those bones, a tough Tremec T56 Magnum
6-speed twists a proven Camaro 10-bolt, which hides a posi-traction
differential and big, 3.73 gears behind a cool Chevrolet
Performance inspection cover. Turns come courtesy of Classic
Performance Products power rack-and-pinion steering. Stopping is a
cinch thanks to power-assisted Wilwood calipers, which clamp a
quartet of drilled and slotted rotors. Large-diameter pipes swirl
spent gases through polished Magnaflow mufflers and polished
stainless tips. Torque melts the pavement thanks to gorgeous BC
Forged wheels which, at roughly $950 each, spin 255/35ZR20 Pirelli
P Zeros in front of 335/25ZR22 Pirelli P Zeros. And acute detailing
includes a 19-gallon fuel tank, a Powermax PLUS mini starter and
modern coil-over-shocks.
A NICE PLACE TO BE
Between this Chevy's doors, custom Tobacco leather is so trick it
would captivate a fashion designer! A firm TMI bench looks and
feels fantastic behind 3-point safety belts and matching TMI door
panels. In front of that seat, a simple dash hangs stylish Dakota
Digital VHX telemetry next to modern Kenwood audio and Dakota
Digital controlled Vintage Air conditioning. That Bluetooth-capable
CD player is, along with fluid power windows, charged through
