For Sale: 1965 Chevrolet Corvette in Cadillac, Michigan

1965 Corvette Jack's passion was race cars and Corvettes. He was a top driver in SCCA Solo II events in Northern California in the 70's. Jack's 1965 B/P Corvette was painted green with orange / white stripes down the side and was nicknamed "Peas and Carrots" by its original owner, Craig Johnson. Craig campaigned the car in the early 70's when Jack met him at a Solo II event after he had bought his own new 1970 Corvette. The 65, vin # 16949 was originally a Glen Green with green vinyl interior 327/350hp Corvette. Craig and Marie Johnson of San Francisco converted it to its present condition, adding flared fenders, wide tires, roll bar and removed the windshield. The windshield and frame are available for the car. The paint scheme, nicknamed "Peas and Carrots" added to the cars history. Craig was also an avid Solo II racer and raced weekly in the 1969-74 era. In 1973 Craig won the SCCA National Solo II Championship at Mid American Raceway in Wentsville, MO. Today, the car is powered by the same 1970 four bolt main 350/350hp cu inch L-46 engine thru the car's original four speed and 4:11 differential. In the fall of 1975, Craig sold the 65 to Jack McDonald. Jack raced it, along with the 1970 Corvette from 1975 thru the late 80's. The 1970 convertible, vin # 07024 was bought new by Jack. Originally it was a 2 top car, painted Donnybrook green with black vinyl interior, the 454/390hp engine, 4 speed trans, positraction differential, tinted glass and AM/FM radio. The engine in the car today is a 1973 big block 454, modified for Salomn Racing. Guldstrand suspension pieces are on the car. The car has never been damaged. It is licensed for the street. In 1972 the car was pressed into service in the A/P class Solo II championship series. In 1974, Jack won the state championship and was runner up Solo II at Mid-American Raceway at Wentsville, Missouri Nationals with this car. In 1975, Jack painted the 70 in the "Peas and Carrots" livery, and campaigned both cars.
