1980 Lamborghini Countach LP400S For Sale- Very Desirable Early
Series II Low Body Design LMC is very proud to offer for sale this
1980 Lamborghini Countach LP400S The second iteration of
Lamborghini's iconic Countach was the LP400S, and it was unveiled
at the Geneva Salon in 1974, just four years after the original
premiered at the same show. Even though the public had become
accustomed to Marcello Gandini's wild and outlandish design, the
LP400S was just as exciting to behold on the stand at Geneva as the
original prototype and its first road going predecessor. From the
time the car was announced, numerous existing and new Lamborghini
customers expressed their interest in the newest car, seeking to
have the latest and greatest example of the wildest road-legal car
available for sale. Today, the 237 production examples of the
Countach LP400S are easily divisible into three distinct series,
which are based on different modifications and upgrades added to
the car throughout the production run. The Series II cars, of which
only 105 were produced, are most easily identified by their
smooth-finished concave wheels, and they also retain the low-body
suspension setting of the Series I cars. The example offered here
is an early Series II low-body example that was ordered new through
Montreal Lamborghini and sold to Jacques Villeneuve who was the
brother of the famed F1 champion Gilles Villeneuve. It was ordered
new in the beautiful and rare Blu Acapulco paint complemented by a
Tan leather interior and Gold wheels. Jacques would own the car for
a few years before selling to the second owner. The third
enthusiastic owner who purchased the car in 1993, would retain
ownership all the way until 2019. During his custodianship, this
special Countach was serviced every year by a Lamborghini
specialist. With receipts totaling over $70,000, the previous owner
made sure this LP400S received any service work needed to keep it
in top running condition. This is an attractive, well-sorted,
low-body Countach that was under single ownership for 26 years.
Included with the sale are extensive records documenting work
performed on the car, original owner's manual and photographs. It
is one of only a few ever produced in this absolutely stunning
color combination. This Countach is an exceptional classic supercar
that will keep turning heads for decades to come. Additional
