This is a factory black-on-black 1979 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 with
T-tops, V8 power, and a cool attitude. So that makes for a great
classic offered for an affordable price.
This is arguably the best design of the era. Chevrolet created a
classically sleek and sporty look from every angle. It shows it's a
true designer's car in details like the fastback profile, the
aggressively pointed front end, and the way the headlight line was
allowed to develop all the way back to the windshield. This was
built a factory black car, and that darker/meaner attitude seems
right for a Z/28. It has the full body kit with a three-piece chin
spoiler that wraps around to the wheel openings, fender vents, and
full-length spoiler out back. And the full silver stripe package
draws extra attention to pieces like the hood scoop. There are even
the right newer investments everywhere from the headlights to the
shiny 17-inch five-spoke Rev wheels.
The interior has the clean look that tells you there has been a
nice balance of care and investment over the years. The
black-on-black look is always terrific on a Camaro, and you really
get to show it off when you take the T-tops out. The interior even
has nice details, like the textured insert on the bucket seats, and
the corded wrap of the NK4 sport steering wheel. It's also a nice
place to spend some time with desirable features, like an armrest
center console, upgraded AM/FM digital tuner w/cassette, and
provisions for factory air conditioning (will need servicing to
blow cold again.)
The Z/28 package was the way to guarantee the best V8 GM was giving
the Camaro at the time. This 350 cubic-inch unit looks
exceptionally honest in the engine bay, right down to the correct
blue block and factory decals. This V8 inhales deeply with the
Quadrajet four-barrel carburetor, and the true dual exhaust gives
you a nice V8 sound. This has a solid feeling out on the road,
which is exactly what you want, because these Z-cars were built for
cruising. It has all-around great driving features with power
steering, power brakes with front discs, and a three-speed
automatic transmission. There's even sway bars front & rear and the
grip modern sport tires afforded by the wheel upgrade.
The sale comes complete with a reproduction buildsheet so you can
really see how this is feature-filled. A factory all-black Camaro
Z/28 is always appealing, especially at this price. Call
