Motorcar Studio is pleased to offer this gorgeous 1958 Volkswagen
Beetle. This Beetle left the factory on January 22 1958, finished
as you see it today in code L240 Agave over K304 green/grey
leatherette. It was acquired out of Texas by an employee of West
Coast Classics, a highly regarded VW restoration shop in California
and was reported to be a very original, rust free, nice car when
found. WCC embarked on a nut-and-bolt restoration that was
completed in 2010 - it was stripped to a bare shell and repainted
in the correct color, all rubber items were replaced, the seats,
headliner and sunroof were reupholstered, the drivetrain was gone
through, etc. Remarkably, it is reported that many trim pieces and
even the door cards were so well preserved that they were retained.
It was purchased by our collector client at a Pebble Beach auction
in 2016

1958 brought a number of changes to the long-running Beetle design
- it introduced larger front and rear windows, a redesigned dash
and new stitching patterns in the interior. It retains the
trafficators and fortunately this one was ordered with the
desirable "ragtop" sunroof. This VW is correct in all the details -
down to the white wall Firestone tires, the rare Loria FM ashtray
radio, original owners manual, jack and tools. It is accompanied by
a certificate of authenticity and a four-page feature article in
Volksworld magazine. This one checks all the right boxes for the
discerning collector and is surely one of the finest Beetles
available today.
