This 1941 Chevrolet Special Deluxe Town Sedan may be close to
celebrating its 80th birthday, but the slick paint, clean/comfy
cloth interior, and smooth motor all let you know that all those
decades have come with the right respect and investments.
This is a great piece of American history. 1941 was the last full
production year before the change to WWII manufacturing, and so
this was for one of the lucky few that had a "new" car through the
war. It instantly makes this two-door significant, and it wears its
history with pride. That's why the black paint has a deep gloss
from a quality respray. The body panels are in excellent condition,
and so the light loves to roll evenly across the swoopy fenders.
The brightwork also received plenty of attention, so it contrasts
the black while also delivering the same level of outstanding
shine. And we absolutely love the detailed red pinstriping in the
grille, hood ornament, bumpers, and full-length trim that really
give these Chevrolets added distinction. Even the wheels are a
detailed package with white pinstriping to match the classic
whitewall tires.
The interior does a fantastic job of feeling fresh without losing
that time capsule feeling. The multiple shades of tan all seem to
be in harmony on the carpeting, door panels, dash, and velour-like
seats. True to this two-door sedan's name, there's a spacious setup
with plenty of room on both rows of seats. So it's easy to take
along those who appreciate a proper pre-war classic. There are even
added seat belts up front, but that's likely the only non-correct
upgrade you're going to spot. They really kept this looking
classic, right down to the factory-style steering wheel and stylish
symmetrical dash.
Chevy's inline-six was the backbone of the company for decades, so
it's a welcomed sight under the hood. Famous for its durability and
smoothness, you'll find that this is an easy car to love. The
engine bay is nicely detailed with the painted head cover and tall
oil bath air cleaner. The motor starts easily with a great
six-cylinder grumble from the single tailpipe. It feels smooth out
on the road, and you'll love the control that the three-speed
manual transmission gives you over this classic powerplant.
So when a respected/restored pre-war classic with this much
charisma is up for grabs, you know you need to act quickly to get
it home. Call today!!!
