A sharp-looking exterior, a bold red A/C interior, and extra power
from the V8 all come together to deliver an impressive package on
this 1968 Pontiac Firebird.
The red paint is an upgrade later in life that uses a clearcoat
application to deliver the kind of look that knows how to radiate
on a sunny day. And these '68 Firebirds want to be impressive. The
unique front chrome bumper surrounds the grille while giving this
Firebird a beak-like front end. This style point is highlighted
further as it meets the tip of the hood's tapering power bulge. The
silhouette offers crisp and clean lines while also have a hint of
kick-up at the wheel wells to accent the Firebird's performance
nature. And just because they knew some people have been dreaming
about a coupe like this since they were a kid, there's a set of Hot
Wheels style US Mags alloys. And the more aggressive 17/18 inch
front/rear stance gives this the look of a proper performance
machine.
The factory-correct red interior joins the upgraded exterior paint
to give this a very cool all-red presentation. This has the right
mix of originality and investments. So, this has seen some
updating, like the fresh carpeting. But we also like that it keeps
classic pieces, including the wood-like trim on the center console
and the first Firebird logo is still in the center of the steering
wheel. This coupe was built to be a cruiser. That's why you have
the comfortable bucket seats up front and a Retrosound AM/FM
digital tuner with aux input for you iPod (it even has a cool
reproduction factory tag.) Plus, the climate control has now been
adapted to deliver air conditioning with modern R134a
refrigerant.
Nestled within the tidy inner walls of the engine bay is the light
blue block that symbolizes proper Pontiac power. This is an
era-correct 350 cubic-inch V8, but you can also instantly see they
made recent investments in upgrades. It now has an Edelbrock
four-barrel carburetor, an Edelbrock hi-rise Pontiac Performer
intake, and ceramic-coated Dougs headers that add to the power
while also giving a sweet sound to the dual exhaust. Front disc
brakes and the grip of modern ZR-rated tires are nice upgrades to
help you enjoy the car's added power out on the road. Plus, power
steering, power brakes, and the two-speed automatic transmission
make this a fine all-around cruiser.
The sale comes complete with the owner's manual. It all makes for a
terrific package that expertly mixes vintage with the right
upgrades. So if you want it all, call today!
