Description:
This gorgeous 1955 Thunderbird was used as a daily driver up until
2 years ago. It has been
maintained by the same classic car shop for over 12 years. The
motor is healthy and runs well, Updated
ignition and manifold help keep this beauty cool during hot summer
days. Frame-off restored a little
over 13 years ago, it shows very well with minor imperfections. It
has cold air, power brakes and
steering, along with an upgraded radio.
Interior:
The Interior has been refurbished, the radio sounds great, the
carpet is very nice. All dash items seem to
work, motor for the seat is clicking but not moving. It has a
hardtop and a soft top is not included
with the sale. Tach works, as does the vintage air system. The red
rubber thunderbird mats look
excellent.
Exterior:
The exterior paint is easily an 8 out of 10 with minor
imperfections. Wheels and tires are in great
shape. Chrome shows well, wipers work, as do all lights. Fender
skirts are clean and can be
removed. The underside is very nice. Has the typical Ford leaks
from this era.
Drivetrain:
Powered by a very healthy 292, breathing through a demon carb.
Electrical has been upgraded to 12
volts, the Ignition system has been upgraded as well for easy
starting. The cooling system has also been
upgraded to a 4-core radiator with an electric fan. The front end
is complemented with disk brakes as
well. Transmission shifts as it should and there are no funny
sounds from the rear end. Shocks were
also replaced and an aftermarket heavy-duty swaybar was fitted for
better drivability and handling,
The original one is in the trunk.
