This 1939 Chevrolet Humback is a nice custom street rod that has a
lot going for it. You don't see many Chevy's out there done this
way so this one is sure to stand out at shows and car cruises. The
current owner has owned the car for years but just completed the
build around 2 years ago. Since then the car has been rarely driven
which is why it is time to find it a new home with someone who will
enjoy it. The body is in great shape with zero rust issues. Any
rust that was present prior to paint was cut out and properly
repaired. It has a fiber glass hood and fenders but the rest is all
original steel. It is painted in a very nice metallic Orange paint
with Gold pearl that really starts to pop out in the sun. From the
firewall back all of the floors has been replaced. The prominent
chrome grill has a great shine and is flanked by round headlights
in chrome trim. All of the glass was replaced during the build
including the two piece windshield. It has hidden hinges on the
doors and trunk which really clean up the exterior of the car.
American Racing Torq Thrust wheels sit nicely under all four
corners and are wrapped with Champion HR Lemans tires that have
plenty of life left.
The drive train of the car has been entirely redone with a crate
350 V8 under the forward tilting reverse hood. It starts up and
runs great. The motor is fitted with chrome valve covers, a chrome
air cleaner, Edelbrock carburetor and an Edelbrock Performer EPS
manifold. The exhaust has been entirely redone and sounds great.
The radiator has also been re-cored and the car has no heating
issues. Behind the motor is a turbo 350 automatic transmission
which transfers power back to the Nova 10 bolt rear end. Under the
front of the car is a S10 pickup front clip. It is a nice driver
and the power steering and power brakes make it a really
comfortable car to cruise around in. The booster is under the floor
and battery was relocated to a wood box in the trunk with kill
switch to free up space under the hood. It has discs up front and
drums in rear.
One cool thing about this Street Rod is you have the coolness of a
2 door but being a humpback sedan there is a back seat so you
aren't restricted to just 1 passenger like a lot of others out
there. The interior is all brand new with nice Tan upholstery with
bucket seats up front. They seat to each side of the custom center
console which incorporate cup holders. The dash of the car utilizes
a combo of matching paint with a wood grain section behind the TPI
white face gauges. Matching the wood is a Grant GT wood grain
steering wheel. The underdash area was used to mount the Pioneer
AM/FM/CD stereo and Old Air AC/Heat controls and vents. Other
notable features include the power windows. The trunk area has
nicely been reupholstered as well.
This cool 39 is a nice running classic with a great look. So if you
