The freshly restored 1965 Poppy Red Mustang we have here at Skyway Classics is a rare 1st generation 1965 with the pony car styling. It has the long hood and short deck that proved wildly popular and inspired a host of competition including the Camaro, Firebird, Cougar and others.

Mechanical

Our Mustang has the C Code engine (per the vin # 5F07C657461) which is a 289 cubic inch engine with over 225 horsepower now with the performance carb, Weiand aluminum intake, modified ignition components, aluminum radiator, long tube headers exiting back to the rear of the dual exhaust system, and Holly chrome open air filter.

It also has chrome valve covers on the grey painted engine, correct hoses and wires, with the engine sitting in a painted and detailed engine compartment all backed up by an automatic transmission.

Interior

The interior has a fresh black Pony Mustang interior with new black carpet and floor mats, new door panels, great dash with all the factory instrumentation and radio, wood 3-spoke sport Mustang steering wheel, and pristine chrome and stainless trim also.

Exterior

The 1965 Poppy Red paint on our Mustang is very nice and is complimented by all good chrome, 289 and Mustang emblems, correct Ford Mustang chrome 5-spoke mag wheels, blackwall tires, and the great bumpers.
