1966 Mercury Cyclone GT Convertible. One of 2135. Very rare. This
was the Indy Pace car in 1966. There were round 100 Pace Cars
built. Most likely this is one of them, but Mercury did not
document. All are red with white top and interiors, as this one is.
The body code '28' does not show up in literature and many believe
it denotes pace car. This on is body code '28' and built just weeks
before Indy. 390 4 barrel Big Block Engine. 'S' code car. Just
found out its replacement motor?? , 320hp, runs great and strong. 4
speed Toploader transmission w/ Hurst shifter. Originally C6 auto
9' Ford rear end. 3.00 open. Power disc brakes Power top Power
steering Has all of the Cyclone specific trim and parts that are
nearly impossible to find. Grill trim is missing in picture, it is
now installed. Console is installed. Kick panels have been changed
to some that don't have speaker holes in. Can text more recent
pictures and pictures of underside. The dash pad is the best I have
ever seen, and these arent available ANYWHERE. Factory dash mounted
tach is in excellent shape and works. Factory original Fiberglass
hood with correct lightweight springs. Original hub caps. Console
in excellent shape. Has new clutch, pressure plate, driveshaft,
yoke and U-joints. Power steering was redone bout 3 years ago.
Motor is replacement motor, so dropped price. I do have correct
C6ME-A Block that can go with car. This beautiful car is an
excellent driver. Not much to make it show ready. It is solid rust
free car. 62K miles. You wont be going to cruises and car shows and
seeing another one there. Please Note The Following **Vehicle
