This 1969 Mercury Cougar Eliminator tribute has a bright and bold
sharpness that instantly grabs you. And since this V8 coupe is also
built to be a solid driver, it's easy to take this one out and get
all attention on you.
We all love a classic Mercury for their upscale nature, but this
one reminds us there can be attitude in there, too. The Competition
Orange is a fresh presentation of a professional application, and
that always makes something that's bold even bolder. Its vibrant
appearance gets turned up a notch even more thanks to the nicely
contrasting Eliminator side stripes. The tapered lines have a
sporty look that go with other dark performance pieces like the
hood scoop and full-width rear spoiler. Even the details get a nice
upgrade. For example, those look like classic Mag 500 wheels, but
they are actually modern American Racing 15-inch alloys. And we're
not sure if Mercury could ever have gotten the hidden headlight
front end looking so sharply aligned from the factory. As you look
over the whole car you really see quality. That's why the bumpers
shine like mirrors as they hug the form, and the body panels are so
well done that it looks like and unbroken sweeping crease from the
front fender to the rear wheel opening.
All the black accents of the exterior get you ready for the full
black interior. There is a feeling of premium the moment you sit in
the driver's seat. The factory built these comfortable buckets with
headrests. A center console, three-spoke steering wheel, round
gauges, and all that wood trim - it's an ideal blend of luxury and
performance. Besides just the great presentation, this one has the
features for a comfortable cruiser, including provisions for
factory air conditioning (will need servicing) and a Retrosound
AM/FM digital tuner for upgraded driving music.
Under the hood is the proper power of a 351 cubic-inch V8. The
presentation is quite tidy and stock, so it's easy to see the big
blue air cleaner sitting on top of the big blue block. They did
also add the right upgrades, like an aluminum radiator to help keep
this one running cool. There's also a newer dual exhaust that give
this one a truly hot rumble. Add in a three-speed automatic
transmission, power steering, power brakes with front discs, and
excellent tread on the wide BF Goodrich T/A tires, and you've got a
total package that's easy to enjoy.
The sharp and speedy looks meet a quality driver
experience...that's exactly what a performance Mercury was all
about, and so this tribute really get it right. Call today!!!
