Toyota FJ40 production began in 1960 and continued through 1984.
Over those 24 years, the FJ 40 remained largely unchanged as the
formula remained successful: Small, maneuverable, reliable and
rugged. As such, the FJ40 was quickly embraced byt the 4X4
community. These trucks continue to live on, and 4 wheel drive
enthusiasts go to great lengths to keep them on the road. Some
purists restore them to bone stock while others implement all sorts
of available modifications.
GR Auto Gallery is pleased to offer this highly restored 1978
Toyota FJ40 soft top for consideration. 1978 was a good year for
the FJ40 as it featured the desirable 4 speed transmission with
floor shift. The truck offered here is powered by the legendary 4.2
liter 2F inline 6 cylinder engine, 4 speed manual transmission and
Toyota's go anywhere 4 wheel drive system. This FJ has been
completely restored and is in excellent condition. It features
freshly recovered seats, new door panels, new headliner, new tires
including new spare tire, rear heat and jump seats.
The vintage 4X4 market remains very strong and the FJ40 continues
to pave the way. There have been documented sales of fully restored
examples in excess of 75000.00 dollars. The FJ40 here is a high
quality example of a desirable year with a sought after engine and
transmission combination. An investment at the price offered
here.
