Please visit www.Survivor-Cars.com for additional photos,
information and a video. 1982 was the last year for the third
generation, C3 Corvette. This 1982 is a Collector Edition
hatchback, which Chevrolet limited production to 6,759. This was
the first Corvette ever with a base price of over $20,000! Painted
in a Bright Blue Metallic, this Corvette stands out in a big way!
With the polished Commemorative aluminum wheels and tinted windows,
this C3 has a great look. The inside is left in the original
multi-tone silver-beige with new door panels. Leather seats and
door panels paired with luxury carpeting were part of the Collector
Edition package and are a step up over the standard cloth seats.
1982 was a good year for the Corvette with a new 4-speed automatic
transmission with a higher first gear ratio for better
acceleration. 1982 also saw solenoid operated doors on the hood to
direct fresh air directly into the air cleaner during
full-throttle! The Crossfire injection system was also new and
helped with fuel economy, driveability and performance. The
Computer Command Control was upgraded to make 80 adjustments per
second, compared to only 10 in the prior year. Other upgrades in
1982 included a positive fuel cutoff, paper air filtering element,
redesigned exhaust system that was lighter with a more efficient
converter, and more! All Corvettes in 1982 received the 5.7 Liter
V8 engine rated at 200 horsepower and the 4-peed automatic
transmission. This Corvette has just received new tires on new
wheels (original wheels come with the car), a new
AM/FM/CD/Bluetooth radio and a rebuild of the transmission. The A/C
blows cold and this car is ready to cruise! Remove the t-tops and
lower the power windows for a fresh air driving experience. With no
Corvette production for 1983, and the C4 following it up in 1984
the C3 Corvettes have becoming highly collectible. This low
production, well optioned 1982 Corvette is a great car to cruise
and show, while also being a solid investment. This vehicle is
