In 1964 Carroll Shelby took the 289 Cobra to the next level of
competition. With the help of Peter Brock who designed a Coupe body
to go over the existing 289 cobra, replacing the poor design of the
flat nosed cobras. The result was a dominating season in 1964
culminating in the 1965 FIA Championship.
Shelby American introduced a new Grand Tourer in 2007, the CSX9000.
Based on a new chassis and with a body designed again by Peter
Brock. These CSX9000's were made out of Fiberglass to offer a
sturdy, durable Grand Touring Daytona Coupe. Built with today's
modern Amenities such as Power Steering, Power Windows, Air
Conditioning, and Power Door Locks, The CSX9000 was the what the
original Daytona was always capable of being.
