Vehicle Description
This is a real Rallye Challenger that's been updated with the 6.1L
SRT8 Hemi engine. It also has Vintage Air, custom wheels and
more!
EXTERIOR: The Rallye replaced the R/T in 1972 so it has the goodies
like the bulged Hood with stripe, sport mirrors and pop up gas cap.
The body is restored very well. It is straight and fits nice.
Smooth even along the bottoms. Repainted in it's original Hemi
Orange color. It has a very glossy, polished finish. The gloss
black stripe is painted on. New 17 inch billet rallye wheels with
performance nitto tires. I love the look of these wheels. The
windshield and vinyl top look new. Original chrome.
INTERIOR: Interior is very nice. New carpet on the floor with
embroidered R/T mats. The center console is real good and has the
slap stick shifter. Desirable factory options include Rallye gauges
in the dash and a Tuff grip steering wheel. All the plastic trim
including door panels are excellent. It has a plastic dash cap that
doesn't fit real good.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Oh boy, it's got the SRT8 6.1L Hemi motor. This
thing really screams. It's an all aluminum engine with a cool
intake and Hemi valve covers on top. A set of ceramic coated
headers flank each side. In front it has serpentine belt system and
a modern power steering with billet pump and stainless braided
hoses. New power brake booster, master and lines. A new Vintage Air
heat and a/c system was neatly installed. New radiator with a big
electric fan keeps it running cool. A new battery with a disconnect
switch is bolted down properly. The engine bay is clean metal all
painted to match the exterior. The VIN number on the core support
and the cowl both match the VIN on the dash, the fender tag is
still attached.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It's painted a gray speckle finish with a gray
mat. It does have a new BF Goodrich tire and a black rim for spare,
the complete jack assembly is mounted properly. The bottom of the
trunk lid and jamb are painted glossy, weather strip is soft.
UNDERSIDE: The front end components look brand new on this car,
literally every part. The upper and lower control arms, spindles,
nuts, bolts, bushings, ball joints, sway bar is new looking. Rear
suspension was apart and replaced too. New bushings, hardware and
gas shocks. The bottom of the motor has an aluminum oil pan and
high torque starter. The 727 Torqueflite automatic trans is vin #s
matched to this car, it looks clean. The 8 3/4 rear end was
rebuilt, it has 3.23 posi gears. New dual exhaust system with
Magnaflow stainless steel mufflers. Correct square tips exit
through the balance. The brakes have all been redone. New calipers
in front, new hoses and lines, e-brake assembly looks complete.
Fuel tank and straps look replaced. The floors look to be real
solid metal. Under this car looks great- floors are freshly
undercoated, components all look fresh.
This is a hot ticket right here. Very desirable vintage Dodge
Challenger with some really nice modern upgrades. It looks great
but most importantly it's a turnkey get in and have some fun type
car. I personally drove it, you better be paying attention when you
hit the gas!
