Impala SS Convertible 1969 marked the swan-song year for the true
Impala Super Sport, the last of the original run of Impala Super
Sports. Demand had decreased as sales of lighter and less expensive
platforms (Camaro, Nova, Chevelle) increased. For 1969 Chevrolet
did not even list the standard Impala SS, but only the SS 427 in
three different body styles: coupe, hardtop and convertible. Only
2,455 Super Sports were assembled for the entire 1969 model year,
over all three body styles. This example offered here for sale was
delivered new on June 27th, 1969 to Oshawa Product Stock in Oshawa.
Factory in finished in the beautiful paint code 59 Frost Green
complemented by a trim 806 Black interior and matching Black top.
It still retains its matching numbers L36 427/390hp engine with
power transmitted through a Turbo 400 3-speed automatic. It is
equipped with a host of options including: air conditioning, power
disc brakes, Power Steering, tinted windows, window electric
control, F41 suspension, tilt steering column, hydraulic steering,
map lamp, under hood lamp, electric clock, tape player and push
button AM radio. Included in the sale with this factory 427 Super
Sport is the General Motors of Canada paperwork which documents how
this ultra-rare Impala SS convertible was ordered new. It also
