Here's a classic Pontiac that was released at the beginning of Pontiac's Wide Track styling and advertising campaign. Longer, leaner lines gave the cars a tougher look. Twin sets of tail lights mounted at the top of the rear fenders lent a jet afterburner 'futuristic' look, which was so popular at the time. This particular Pontiac is finished in the striking color combination of Mandalay Red over a red interior. According to the trim tag, this car left the Linden, New Jersey production plant finished in Shelltone Ivory (code C) over Fawn interior (code 267). Our client tells us that a previous owner of the car who was a Pontiac executive had the car repainted in Red. The current color combination is much more attractive in our opinion. This car is easy on the eyes! During our client's ownership the top was replaced, the bumpers were rechromed, and a new grille was installed. The flowing lines of this top-of-the-line-up Bonneville are uninterrupted throughout thanks to body panel alignment that is nicely dialed in. The exterior condition is exactly what you would expect from a well cared for classic that has been garage kept...just how we like them. Once in the cavernous interior, it is clear that this classic Pontiac has been well maintained. Switches, buttons, metal trim, wood trim, and painted areas all show really well. The gauge cluster with the sweeping speedometer needle, and the factory AM radio sit just above the power top switch. The large, comfortable seats are in great condition and feature two tone red trim with a white stripe where each passenger may sit. Thanks to power steering, this big Pontiac is a breeze to drive despite its overall size. Under the hood is a 389ci V8 mated to a Hydramatic transmission. The engine bay is tidy with the engine itself painted Pontiac blue. A 4bbl Carburetor, power steering, and power brakes are other engine bay highlights.
