The Chevelle SS defines the Muscle Car. The only way to truly
document a 1971 Chevelle as having the SS 'option' is by original
paperwork with codes - the build sheet and/or chassis broadcast
copy sheet - or a factory stamped engine where the partial VIN
stamping matches the car's VIN sequence. This fully restored 1971
Chevelle appears to be a very good candidate, but it cannot be
positively verified. Based on the VIN, we do know that it left the
factory as a Code 136 Malibu V8 (no SS code138 was used in '71).
The exterior has the right SS components including the functional
cowl induction hood and the interior appears to be SS correct. The
exterior of this Chevelle is stunning. A two-stage Maroon finish
was professionally sprayed and trimmed with white SS stripping and
SS logos. The functional cowl induction hood is classic muscle and
the white vinyl top is in very good condition. Its stance is pure
'70s muscle on 15"x8" SS rally wheels and BF Goodrich Radial T/A
tires. Inside, the interior has been carefully restored with
beautiful embossed tan tweed upholstery and new carpeting. Chevy
should have offered this interior at the factory. It features
bucket seats, center console, factory gauge cluster w/tach, tilt,
tinted windows and a Panasonic AM/FM/CD sound system. Under the
hood sits a new crate 454ci/425 'Rat' motor fitted with Edelbrock
intake, dual-feed Holley, coated headers and a custom exhaust. A
3-speed automatic transfers power to a factory differential with
good street gearing. The chassis is fitted with power steering,
power disc/drum brakes and front/rear sway bars. This is a
beautiful Chevelle to drive and enjoy. ALL VEHICLES SOLD "AS
IS".
