Proudly flying the flag for gearheads who desire ultimate
performance and want to be seen in one of the coolest cars money
can buy, the Chevrolet Corvette has been a poster child of spirited
American ingenuity since 1953. Over the years, the marque has
challenged and bested a gamut of world class competitors, all the
way from Ford's storied Thunderbird to Porsche's thoroughbred 911.
And this 2015 Z06/Z07 is a knife-edged track carver that takes
speed and athleticism from a 10 to a 12. With the long-awaited
introduction of the mid-engine C8, this Chevy represents the
pinnacle of front-engine Z06 production. And if you're looking for
a rad ride that's off the charts in virtually every way, it's an
all-American rocket ride to the top of the supercar
stratosphere!
SHADES OF TEAM CORVETTE
This showroom-fresh Chevy is a Main Street superstar that appears
assembly line perfect in virtually every way. The car's chiseled
profile glows straight and true thanks to factory-optioned Velocity
Yellow Tintcoat, which highlights standard Carbon Flash trim, an
optional Carbon Flash hood stripe and $3,995 of optional Visible
Carbon Fiber bolt-ons. That equipment begins with aggressive
splitters, complete with Z07-spec winglets, progresses through a
choice of two removable roofs, and flows into a large spoiler
that's complete with an adjustable wickerbill. Swept emblems,
streamlined grilles and a cool combination of HID and LED lighting
mix tasteful form with convenient function. Reflections are managed
through heated, power-operated mirrors that automatically dim for
the car's driver. And it all adds up to one seriously capable
sports car that'll show with the finest classics and run with the
fastest challengers!
6.2 LITER LT4 / 1.7 LITER TVS
Like its incredible appearance, this Corvette's engine highlights
classic Chevy appeal with a virtual lifetime of technological
improvement. Under the functional, carbon fiber hood you'll find
GM's latest and greatest LT4: a supercharged, all-aluminum marvel
that twists stout 10 to 1 compression into 650 horsepower and 650
lb./ft. of tire-shredding torque. Founded in GM's very successful
Corvette Racing program, the brutal mill utilizes a 1.7 liter Eaton
TVS blower, forged powder metal rods and forged aluminum pistons to
flat out whip pretty much anything with four wheels. A perfect
amount of oxygen flows from a remote filter element through a
factory-spec throttle body to a factory-spec intake. That air meets
fuel under Rotocast aluminum cylinder heads, which are built with
lightweight titanium valves. When those heads open, spent gases
roar through stainless steel manifolds, close-coupled catalytic
converters and aggressive, vacuum-actuated mufflers. Standard
dry-sump oiling utilizes a dual-pressure-control pump to ensure the
engine doesn't cramp up during 1.19g turns. There's a redesigned
cooling system that, like the aforementioned heads, is unique to
this ilk of small block. And, thanks to direct injection,
continuously variable valve timing and Active Fuel Management, all
those components happily thrive on everyday pump gas!
WORLD CLASS PERFORMANCE
For the most part, Corvettes have always been great track cars, and
this slick coupe benefits from decades of engineering prowess and a
few tricks learned by Chevrolet's own IMSA race team. The car's
sinuous fenders, featuring the Z06's standard two and three-inch
widening, frame a thoroughbred, Z07-spec suspension that's fitted
with GM's much lauded Magnetic Ride Control. At the center of the
floors, a tough GM 8L90 8-speed sends smooth and steady torque to
an electronic limited-slip differential that's built around sporty,
3.42 gears. Electronic variable-ratio power rack-and-pinion
steering ensures turn-in is light and constantly engaging. At the
corners, a standard antilock braking system clamps Dark Gray Brembo
calipers on carbon, Z07-spec rotors. Multi-Mode Performance Exhaust
takes the soundtrack from soothing to brutal with the stomp of a
foot. Power pounds the pavement via lightweight spin-cast wheels,
which twist 285/30ZR19 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2s in front of
335/25ZR20 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2s. And everything is kept
somewhat in check by Active Handling stability and traction
control.
DRIVER-FOCUSED
Behind the doors you'll find tight Napa Leather that contrasts a
Jet Black sheen against optional Sueded Microfiber trim. The car's
heated and ventilated seats deck magnesium Competition Sport frames
in full power adjustment. A leather-wrapped and carbon
fiber-trimmed dash hangs digital telemetry between a color Head Up
Display and a broad console that toggles a short shifter. Chevy
MyLink infotainment pipes Bluetooth, OnStar and optional
Performance Data and Video Recording through optional Bose Surround
audio. In front of the driver, a flat-bottom steering wheel spins a
Sueded Microfiber rim around small paddles and a power
tilt-and-telescoping column. There's an optional Memory Package
that tailors interior comfort to pre-determined settings. And
naturally, all the luxuries you'd expect in a high dollar sports
car are present and accounted for, including power windows, power
door locks, Cruise Control, dual-zone climate control, Universal
Home Remote and Remote Keyless Entry with Remote Start.
Mixing incredible power with world class athleticism and
all-American swagger, this exclusive Chevy is nothing short of
astounding. And when it comes to the driving experience, it's about
as much fun as you can have on four wheels! Looking to embarrass a
few European supercar owners? It's time you become a proud member
of Team Corvette!
