Vehicle Description
Gateway Classic Cars of Houston is pleased to offer this 1970
Chevrolet Corvette Convertible for sale. This classic Stingray has
undergone a hefty restoration bringing it back to life with more
power, better looks, and overall making a better car for today's
driver. Powered by a stout 454 CID V8 you have plenty of power
readily available at the touch of the pedal. Dyno tested in 2014,
this beauty was putting out 367HP and 360FtLbs of torque. After the
rebuild in 2014, the motor has only around 1000 miles on it. The
rebuild was done by "Bumbera's Performance Associates" which
consisted of bore and hone with plate, deck block, line hone,
polish crank, resize rods, balance rotating assembly, mill heads
and complete 3 angle valve job, and "street port" heads. New
components included new pistons, rings, cam bearing, rod and main
bearings, freeze plugs, timing chain set, oil pump, rocker arms,
and flywheel. Aiding in the power is a "Big Mutha Thumpr" Comp Cam
and lifters. Other work includes rebuilt carburetor, new fan,
transmission seal, stall converter, and much more. A binder filled
with documentation covers the restoration work of this '70 Vette
pretty well giving you a good idea of what you are getting. The
exterior features a nice Laguna Gray paint scheme that shows well.
The accented white cowl gives the car a nice contrast and more of a
sporty look to it, not that Corvette's aren't sporty as it is. With
a clean exterior, you need to have an interior to match. The
interior work was done back in '83 according the binder filled of
documentation means this car has been well cared for over the years
considering there is minimal wear and tear. Having documentation
dating back to 1983 is a great help as it covers more than half
this cars life, so you know exactly what it's been through. Between
all the work done, I'd be hard pressed to say there hasn't been a
bolt that has gone unturned over the years. For more information on
