Produced from 1978 to 1993, The third generation of the famed Mustang from Ford is commonly referred to as the Fox Body Mustang. Consumer opinion convinced Ford to maintain the car as a rear wheel drive sports coupe, and it remains so today. The "2nd Half" of the 3rd generation car, model years 1987- 1993 received some styling changes, most notably the aerodynamic composite headlamps and front fascia styling. Production ended with the introduction of the fourth-generation Mustang for the 1994 model year.
The 1988 Fox Body Mustang presented at auction is a fine, original example worthy of presentation at car shows, addition to a fine collection or to enjoy on the open road! Sold new in Minnesota, the Mustang spent its time in the favorable climate of Arizona. The current owner maintains an excellent collection of low-mile original cars and this is among the best of the collection both in terms of mechanical performance and excellent visual appearance.
The 2.3L I4 Fuel Injected engine runs strong and powers the car very well, and the 5 speed manual transmission give the driver power over performance on the road. The odometer shows 60,500 miles and are believed to be original.
