For Sale: 1966 Volvo 122S Amazon in Higganum, Connecticut

Vehicle Description

1966 Volvo Amazon/122S

In 1956 the Amazon first made it's worldwide debut. It lasted in essentially the same trim up until 1970.

In 58, the S was introduced as a sportier version. By 1966 most of them were delivered as S models.

This particular car is a 2 owner car, with the current owner purchasing her back in 1985. He drove the car regularly and unfortunately about 15-18 years ago, an engine issue forced her off the road. Liking the car, the owner figured he'd pull the engine and have it rebuilt. Of course, once the engine was out, why not clean up this issue and that issue and, heck, why not paint the car too, make it nearly brand new.

As we all know, the best made plans are soon laid to waste and this project fell on hard times. The engine had been rebuilt, the car was also primed and ready for paint, and he had amassed a large pile of extra parts, including fenders, doors, chrome/stainless trim bits, bumpers, wheels, an extra 4 speed transmission, an extra B18D engine, etc. when she got parked in the barn.

He's decided it's time to move her on to a new home.

The original rebuilt B18D engine is with the car as is the original M40, 4 speed manual transmission.

These cars were rally champions back in the day and even then Volvo was known for their safety, this car includes seat belts and front disc brakes.

This car is rather solid with three small rust holes in the driver floor and one in the driver rear floor.

She's ready for someone to take her home and finish what has been started.

$2000 will take her and all the parts home.

Please contact me with any questions, for many more photos, to arrange a time to see her or to make an offer.

Thank you!
